After graduating with a BSc Hons in Psychology (Goldsmiths,Uni of London ), my career commenced in the telecommunications industry and rapidly developed to AT&T UK’s network architecture team. During these projects, I designed network enhancements, created fault resolutions and performed technical project management of highly complex site migrations and network engineering projects across European and Transatlantic backbone networks and city inner rings.

Then the telecoms industry crash happened. Technical development was strained so I jumped at the opportunity to expand analytical capabilities in the commercial arena by heading Service Management at ETT (now GTT). This environment triggered my innovative commercial development leading to introducing dynamic efficiency reviews for premier brand clients (e.g. Ford / Bloomberg); to align technology provision to operational performance. Thereafter, my new founded flair for value add commercial expertise developed rapidly as I progressed from Bid Manager of large bespoke solutions to developing and leading the Bid and Commercial team for all sales channels at Viatel.

Stepping forward into commercial management in a leading senior transformational role reporting to the Future Media & Technology CTO at the BBC, I introduced and managed Commercial Management for global BBC technology (£230M+ p.a.) with dynamic flair and recognised success from the BBC Trust, BBC Board of Directors and across all BBC divisions. In this role, I surveyed BBC division stakeholder requirements and set up a Commercial Workshops customised per division to bring tangible cost savings, increased compliance and develop technology provision to align with evolving technology strategies. For the contractual commercial performance, leading commercial and contractual senior negotiations and implementing flexible measures to bring cost efficiencies and value add to meet the changing technology landscape of the BBC was met with great success. For instance, forming a Commercial Resolution Forum to overcome operational issues though collaborative projects with suppliers for lower cost and rapid resolutions.

Unexpectedly the digital archiving project (managed by external suppliers) brought the BBC to its knees. At this time I took the decision to take a sabbatical before moving back to my roots in the North. For 9 months, I lived on a ‘state of the art’ hospital ship with Mercy Ships in Sierra Leone as a Professional Journalist and Editor for global publications following patient medical journeys and sustainability projects. Shortly afterwards, I (and several media team members) won a USA films award for ‘As Vapour’ depicting the story of the life transformation of a young boy after medical care.

After my feet touched down in the Northwest, the opportunity arose to launch Dallas Legal (formerly Fortis Legal), an innovative and niche, legal & consultancy firm of Company, Commercial, Human Resource Management and Employment experts, offering high quality, practical advice, administration and consultative strategies for high growth and established SMEs in the UK and internationally.

As a Director in Dallas Legal, commercial acumen has been an integral part in the provision of premium quality Legal, HR and Business Management professional services to proactively support rapid growth SMEs and offering practical business consultancy to entrepreneurial companies internationally and UK; primarily for Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology, Retail, Healthcare sectors. During this time I’ve embraced opportunities to support the regional business needs in my role as General Secretary in the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Liverpool Branch and Regional Board Member as an Ambassador for FSB Connect; creating the strategy and managing a regional competition across universities to support emerging new undergraduate businesses.

The depth of my commercial consultancy expertise supporting healthcare clients contributed to the Dallas Group acquisition and development of a medical healthcare company, Dallas Health (formerly MIBA Health), providing medical services that have attracted partnerships with reputable Northwest and UK partner clinics on the basis of patient wellbeing model combined into the provision of clinical care. The excellence in patient care was the basis to be invited as Chair of the Skills for Care, Liverpool Registered Managers Network regional meeting. My passion to engage with health and social care helped transform the forum from 15 to 80 members by introducing regulator CQC to be an integral part of the agenda through interactive practice workshops and developed relationships with key health industry organisations such as The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

The combined success of my dynamic, commercial expertise alongside co-founder Garth Dallas innovative strategic experience has led to engagements in the provision of future sustainable business, for example, leading business collaborations in The Good Business Festival 2020-2021 ,Liverpool City Council.

I am enthused with excitement in helping businesses define their purpose through delivering expert-led solutions to overcome challenges and provide innovative developments to navigate through the Pandemic. Experience, innovation and excellence are truly the cornerstones to drive trusted, sustainable growth!
